The weekend before Logan's birthday party, the whole Orlando-based Levine family (including Todd, Monica, and Jared) were invited to Lake Toho in Kissimmee to celebrate Max's and Carnot's birthday. Max was turning 1 and Carnot was turning 4. The highlight for Asher was the attention he received. The highlights for Logan were the splash park, pizza, cake, and balloons. As you can see from the pictures (click here), everyone was having a good time and the covered pavillions kept us nice and cool in the summer heat.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-73627800345339294132009-08-08T10:53:00.000-07:002009-08-08T11:09:08.954-07:00Un-Professional Photo Shoot<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5NcL8Es0d81rcZ8v3NdsqnFQHu_tVJmRkQOrb5gnkMvpOgPqYclGUdd23BQsgNd6oG0UE4zUyrKS4w9Um1IWCOR1rvIWYp6ADAPzXkVNsAddAncXYaR1TXAh0q40_Lr9kapbaHLboRlTw/s400/Green+shirts.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367656016445861042" />
Well, the pictures came out great, but the only thing professional about them is the high caliber of cameras used. Brian, Stefanie, Todd, and Monica took these pictures of Logan, Asher, and Jared (our nephew) before Max and Carnot's birthday parties at a lakeside park in Kissimmee. They came out pretty good for amateurs. Todd and Monica tried to print a couple of theirs at Walmart and they asked to see the copyright information. We rented ourselves a mini van to avoid putting miles on our own van. We left Saturday morning for our first destination -- Fayetteville, NC. We picked Fayetteville because it was about 1/2 way between Orlando and Langhorne, PA.

We were on the road by 9am after stopping at Delish for some bagels and cookies. Stefanie's mom Barbara ("Mimi") came along with us to help us out and to see her family in Boston. We all had our assigned seats in the van. Brian drove the whole time. Mimi sat in the front seat and managed the trash collection, snacks, and DVDs. Stefanie sat in the middle row with Asher and she was in charge of feeding Asher, putting the DVDs in the player for Logan, and general children entertainment. Logan sat in the last row which he had all to himself.

The trip through Florida and Georgia was fast. We packed some food and only stopped once for a gas/bathroom break. Things changed once we hit South Carolina. Logan started asking to get down from his car seat and pulling on the straps and saying "off". A couple minutes later, he vomited. We pulled off at the first available exit and stopped at a Walmart. Mimi and Stefanie brought the kids inside to change them and pick up a numbers puzzle, some books, and a 3 pack Barney DVD (we took Logan's Barney DVD case, but left the actual disc in our car at home) while Brian filled up the car with gas.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL_b2_-Stg2hRTVoy0Tg7GthpsbDAm9x5DCmi1X_SL9DtXExAOwIL8jehh24sHPBMpkFg4movptgPjKSgaUk-pyt-IbqcIfbTmRP5sCzQaYZmF-WVCISyZ3eTwA-cEAj8mVBPBh94Kqdr2/s200/DSC01640.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364449546754315410" />
We were back in the car and on our way to the highway when Logan threw up again. We pulled off at a gas station to change him again. We had already used the only accessible clothing so we decided to just keep Logan in his diaper. We pulled onto the highway finally and he threw up again. He threw up the entire way to Fayetteville. I think we had counted about 8 times. We arrived in Fayetteville just before dinner when Asher threw up once. We think it was because he started teathing. We bathed both boys and since it had been a couple of hours since he last vomited, we decided to try to go out to eat. Unfortunately, we were forced to leave the restaurant before the food came because Logan vomited all over Stefanie. We went back to the hotel and Logan slept until about 3am and he threw up again.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkKDE3NWjjjtFcg3atBctEcRqJWznjkgAQ725nQ7QzMi46e1ttZPJW5gCev2gMmH7skEllZlYpyIrsyremlnkA4iH0QgTW7EUEjEICOeBiinH_Cc66JMnaLgq9Sh5qSWrQ3a_fa013ktSo/s200/DSC01577.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364445259313879970" />
When we woke up in the morning, Logan had a slight fever so we decided to find an urgent care center. Logan never threw up again. Not sure if it was the medicine he got at the urgent care or the fact that it was just a 24 hour bug. The drive to Langhorne was rather uneventful which was good. We were in Langhorne to visit Sesame Place. Sesame Place was smaller than we expected. Logan didn't even need a stroller. You definitely need to bring a bathing suit since more than 50% of the park was water-based.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzPL8mdP9GBB2nfZ5W9ShNAO_Xxz1A-VLeS5xiElfZWqnAbQGvwHroIkFtHx6DPfYNr6DkF1It_4oAuIAohZc53b2xo87UjoYhd_VBKCR7_3OBGdodZEz5Qra_w9mbBzSYeXr3YlnMwVSX/s200/DSC01594.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364445850176858658" />
Logan started off watching the Elmo's World Live show which seemed to amaze him. From there, he played at Big Bird's nest for a while until he was ready to go on some rides. We went on Big Bird's Balloon Race, Grover's World Twirl, Elmo's Flyin Fish, and the Sunny Day Carousel. During the day, we also tried pictures with the characters (Elmo, Big Bird, and Abby). We took a break for some lunch and then watched the parade. After the parade, he seemed to do much better with the characters. We saw Bert and Ernie in the street and took several good pictures.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtTlA5mLPf0OorAkWHysK5C5Ym1G4bqv7CGRSZDhpUMQr32GFEx5Ju5eLvzQxi21s7V2hyLKo5qaiMIGekoE0Qd4n_EpTFWXdBujZAISona_exW0XSObyzncbWAke4tDNWz57UHPU1ely_/s200/DSC01620.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364447364559459442" />
The afternoon was dedicated to water activities. We bought Logan a Sesame Street bathing suit. He actually got the one featured on Jon and Kate Plus 8. He also picked out a pair of Elmo water shoes which he calls "Elmo Agua Shoes". He was all ready for the Big Bird's Rambling River ride including a little mini splash area. From the lazy river, we hit the Count's Splash Castle. We were able to catch one more show -- Big Bird's Beach Party.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSmVfyAO-0M-OvCTi88zOQzVpd_B3bhtpnLTQv1_r5d75hyrZVMIdTEIjrxLti2Ge9c8Lp0GkX1o72JjDDLeph2ChI6-MemLT6eGCtKFZYv86f5nPwvY-al_L2VxgnAMxJ_YRY8mkpvL2B/s200/DSC01637.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364448144941359602" />
We stayed that night in Langhorne and left in the morning for Boston. We were going to Boston for Cousin Andy's wedding. We kept Logan entertained the whole time. On Tuesday night, we went shopping and had dinner at China Town with Debbie. On Wednesday, we went on a Duck Tour, went to the Children's Museum, drove through Sharon, and stopped by to see Audra, Rob, Hailey, and Aaron. That night we had pizza with Debbie's parents and Logan couldn't get over Bob.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1y42zgTXLH_dAGyGIBu_rlNICOYoQtqpuEJBBLRvaHOBSH8gZwMWrQ6KBEv9bMCusiNuSPeyh2lXpQtKUe0mWh_Rw1IGWB3JBjypXspuFwSzQ0B-YUITYugFtSn3FZb7bov3fDJbuhgJg/s200/DSC01643.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364448950414096738" />
On Thursday, we went to Patriot's Place and took the kids to the rehearsal dinner. We woke up Friday to go out to breakfast to find the window in our van was smashed in. We had accidentally left the GPS in the car. They stole that, Logan's plug for the DVD, and Brian's glasses. Brian swapped out the rental car at Logan airport while Logan got to see some of Stefanie's relatives and friends. Mimi and Debbie watched Logan and Asher while Stefanie and Brian went to Andy and Lani's wedding and had a blast. We stopped by Debbie's in-laws for breakfast and to borrow a GPS and DVD player for the drive home. It took us two days to get home, stopping in Richmond, but we made it home without any further adventures.

For more pictures of Boston, click here.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-1415788035559076062009-07-29T13:06:00.000-07:002009-08-08T11:52:31.418-07:00Logan turns 2!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJa1jXPTy-MZQKOBOxpERCkyTl6nv47ARdUijOumZ5BmxR9402TjRpSHBtJEGqqSsYUS44umFY2eSh_zFbv4KZSkGaWSYEj4367Reu1P7wiHdpyGct40S5tRrCimCWhYxfv-65uV3z5s1S/s400/P7182098.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367666489432740738" />

It wasn't easy picking a place for Logan's birthday this year. Every place we tried was sold out for the summer. We're glad that we ended up at Monkey Joe's. It was actually perfect. Monkey Joe's is an indoor inflatable play center (slides and bounce houses). They took care of everything and everyone had a good time. We were originally worried since Logan didn't really do anything during his first visit to Monkey Joe's several months ago. This visit started out similar to his last trip. He would walk up to the opening of a ride and then walk back without going in. He would even cry if someone tried to take him on a ride.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfq23MglUMjaHCgN3op_nCLMj-lC07bsMnpYMG0IJYsBNv_ezMIib7R5IWZRv_LxviTBRk5l4xwXYULwhp7Lh-4rsHe5E8_rWOfECMOf2mBfCHyKOpHYG4cOdqOMr8o705-048l2DNHL8P/s200/Logan+B-day+025.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367665693290075394" />
It got much better as the day moved on. Logan loved the inflatable chair at the head of the table. He also loved the pizza. He had actually been asking for pizza a week before his birthday and we kept telling him that he would have pizza at his party. We think he ate around two pieces. As he was finishing his second piece, Monkey Joe came in to say hello and give Logan a shirt. Logan couldn't wait to pull off his shirt and try on the new shirt. He also loved Monkey Joe.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgapi41y1bv7kqMDqs6ef7qzwwqf_Nw5NoV0xtkU_4NQCVZsi-evmX-uCqE_SuL4TzAYcDBhATAPziUQBdQI8DGedFjFiCTkFMgPFPfBX1mOyGTx2J72IG04DNIqZTAcLaBkwYWhUEBLzow/s200/Logan+B-day+069.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367667154277851490" />
Logan was pleasantly surprised by his Barney Birthday Cake which was made and decorated by hand by Delish, a NY bakery. If cake wasn't enough, the kids also got ice cream. After a couple juice boxes, a piece of cake, and a bowl of ice cream, Logan was ready to hit the inflatable rides. He probably spent over an hour on the same ride. It happened to be one of the least scariest rides, but we were still happy that he loved it. Some of his friends bounced along with him.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWuuKiExMWYRZvk8EBeVcg15xqd0ekwcwBWH99bfthfvoY_AiPsbSKjrMrnsZYeLu3aVRrFb2-tDrWmjTIfMphO8xSj2Bnpjrpdx1VKn_WHagvEBkPj9-XX6oBOk1Xl4BeVtQ1KPEQxrHB/s200/Logan+B-day+089.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367667649145827762" />
We were at Monkey Joe's from 10:30am until around 1:30pm. When we got home, Logan took a nap while we put together some of the toys we had bought him and arranged all the rest of the toys. Todd, Monica, Jared, Grandma Elise, and Grandpa Howie joined Grandpa Sumner (Poppi) and Grandma Barbara (Mimi) to open gifts at our house and spend some time in the swimming pool. Logan loved each gift better than the next and wanted to open everything.

Logan has made a lot of progress during his second year of life. He really seems to comprehend everything. He is also a great communicator. He repeats everything and has an incredible memory. He learns a new word usually after hearing or seeing it one time. He knows all of his letters, most of his numbers, all of his primary colors, most of his Disney characters, and most animals (land and sea). He is also doing really well in the pool. He can float on his back, do the crab walk along the pool wall from the deep end to the stairs, play ring around the rosie, jump into the pool, kick, and blow bubbles. He is very helpful in school and at home. In fact, he just started at a new school and did incredibly well in the transition. We started potty training again, but he seems to prefer making in his swim diaper. We think Logan likes music. He loves playing the guitar, piano, and drums. He even knows what a violin and saxophone are. He also likes playing basketball. His favorite characters are still Elmo and Barney, but he seems to know everyone -- Dora, Boots, Diego, Lightning McQueen, Luigi, Mater, Ramon, Nemo, Buzz, Woody, Handy Manny, Elmo, Big Bird, Telly, Burt, Ernie, Count, Cookie Monster, Bee Bop, DJ, and more.

For pictures of Logan's party, click here.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-88985741907373527402009-05-28T17:50:00.000-07:002009-05-28T19:12:50.799-07:00Logan learns water survival skills

They say that a child should learn water survival skills as soon as he is old enough to walk. It is important, especially when you have a pool in your backyard, that children know how to float if they accidentally fall in a pool. With much anticipation, Logan started lessons this week. We have heard horror stories of these water safety classes torturing kids by submersing them under water as they swallow gallons of water crying the whole time.

Thanks to a great coach discovered by Aunt Monica, our experience has been nothing short of awesome. Within minutes, Logan was floating on his back with his hands behind his head. He did cry through most of his first lesson, saying "all done" and "bye bye" during each break. He spent about 25 minutes on his back and when it was all over, he ran over to Brian and gave him a big hug and then burped for the next 2 minutes from all the air in his stomach.

The next day, he was able to float on his back all over the pool, even the deep end. He wasn't bothered by grazing up against the pool cleaner hose or walls of the pool. He kept his pose the whole time. When he saw Stefanie hold a camera to take a picture, he even said "cheese". Again, he spent the majority of his 30 minute lesson on his back without much assistance. When it was all over, this time he ran up to Stefanie and gave her a big hug while saying "Bye Bye Coke [coach]".

The third lesson was supposed to be the scary one where he is dunked under the water on his back and you hope he floats to the top and holds the correct position. He did great. He didn't cry. He kept his eyes and mouth closed and held his float position. Tomorrow, he will be dunked face down and we hope he'll know to turn over to his back.

For pictures of Logan swimming, click here.

We might as well take this opportunity to highlight some of Logan's other recent accomplishments. He knows all his colors, he can count to 3 and knows several other numbers like 8. He knows every letter of the alphabet from sight and sound. He knows several words (mostly body parts) in both English and Spanish. He has hand signals and sounds for most animals like touching his neck for a giraffe. He is also beginning to put 2 words together.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-11330620829050918782009-04-05T07:55:00.000-07:002009-04-06T09:47:35.460-07:00Disney Wonder with the Cohen Family<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmbFgfQUDWahAdS6RsHGWWuSaPfc9ce6u6aDDdcaBWKG_dri7CcVgOML6jSKPnzAZRl-t32H_NjkBB5f01lJvguHfJWZ3uLGpA3F2nVSPSjUIByEsqXyBg9HWrDdmOlv0pksB7f4kBxkjN/s400/DSC00975.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321223135148616002" />
On April 2nd, 2009, Logan, Brian, Stefanie, Aunt Hollie, Uncle Jonathon, and cousins Jordyn and Benjamin, embarked on the Disney Wonder for a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room on the ship for Asher. The cruise set sail from Port Canaveral Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect with temperatures in the mid-80's. As soon as we boarded the ship, we headed upstairs to the Beach Blanket Buffet for a late lunch. That was the beginning of the eating which continued until we returned to Port Canaveral three days later.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9n00w77Vh6wp31TcNcdeOYCpHnRtSzavby3q-SqPv1AmDzqQMZaxDt1BbE_3SgAOiRMB8LZbeiSO_YfGbUqlkUTK8mUVqEQpdQOeXIi9YbaUMmmUrzgV7tb6oyVMbAgM2xOikVyV-WN-h/s200/P4021582.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321245307576325026" />
After lunch, we found our rooms, unpacked and got ready for the bon voyage party on the Lido deck. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Pluto all came out to kick-off the fun. Logan had a blast as he danced on the towel cabinets while enjoying the music and the fun while Jordyn and Benjamin enjoyed a dip in the pool.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyHW_9UeLD3qFeKZ1OfCaEF535tGVcn9iLEzrFbF-LfBJ0lJu9iuk3XeOVbICvrtehrU4jkS8oVSdJ_VYuF6fNalXZ2XmJnUc-v9FXMq5ZS6VzfrqJA9EEDH8ZLxPvAffnKNp6AcD46ENF/s200/P4021621.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321246913879313730" />On a Disney Cruise, you eat in a different dining room every night. The first night, we dined at the Parrot Cay dining room. It should be no surprise that Logan thoroughly enjoyed meal time. Our server's name was Everett and our assistant server's name was Oscar. As you can see, Logan got a kick out of his cousins. They were playing peek-a-boo and looking out of the window to watch the waves crash against the ship.

That night, Logan spent a couple hours playing in the Flounder's Reef Nursery while the twins spent time in the Oceanear's club. Logan stayed up until after 10pm and finally crashed in our bed where he ended up sleeping with us all three nights.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-RG8QqBUtZzpOT5dnyngck5cdQ_XXbltgk9EH6kGxVl2qMw2rf3TdsejNw3tzZTie73Q2H3hzMohHmqmouMbI-NHCXZ1-GHnYbhyphenhyphen5faUmKFkZlPka32cc1hxP_Nbwz2kya1hMgD6rpipQ/s200/DSC00902.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321269597649793330" />The next morning, we awoke in time for breakfast and to watch the ship dock in Nassau, Bahamas. Logan stayed on board while we explored downtown Nassau and the Cohen's went on a beach break excursion to the Atlantis Resort. We picked up Logan for lunch and then treated him to the splash pool. He had a blast, though it took him a while to get acclimated. By the time we were ready to leave, Logan was fully engaged in play.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2TaL2ASSShNTbnkK9DFgOqlWzw3f6DyQwFy584UbehIdR8T_QMFOW4tsm3vJ8miFK_-ulA8rP7F3zNL2vMMBEeRVifBqdQ3uhro0Y3UiK2-kaba3etRqzIEZN1dLz6jobEmbqq5_nmN2P/s200/DSC00909.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321273775711223042" />After a long nap, we met up for a game of Bingo. You could say we were all winners. Stefanie won Bingo in the first round and received a $108 room credit. Hollie won one of the raffles and received a free 30 minute facial. The kids walked away with Disney magnets and tattoos. Dinner that night was at Triton's followed by the "Toy Story - The Musical" show. We had spent the last couple weeks brainwashing Logan on Toy Story by playing it in the van non-stop. It seemed to work. He sat there the whole time, calling out names of things/people he knew like Buzz, Woody, the baby, the turtle (also known as the dinosaur), and the duck.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDDb0yI977erJ6-B11kFbUUySSBrXfWwvEmu4scxcxYT-kCbcxL-pHch3yB902tlmgCDenY8TcjWzofr6rTXN9FkCwDyFCVP-G7swTCHCIXN8WhWhO06FXdkmXx1LGsJvtHBif5tvqprtC/s200/DSC00926.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321328631296705666" />Friday night was "Pirates of the Caribbean" night where Mickey and crew dress up like pirates and are joined by Captain Hook and several other pirate characters to entertain the ship pirate-style. People dress up in their pirate-bests and there's plenty of food, drink, music, and dance. The festivities started at 10pm, but the kids lasted much longer than that.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiZgPns8JtiL7Nr3p9NaBgcPODGNlxodur6Q4eQqvthwZY8UxIcT8yOvE2_rFnGaUpfjApauLBVODWZgSLkUi1S4JsSODzClV4xPfRUZEv4zWdF8ox2CtfVVNoZV-zQHyKE_B-bEn598Nm/s200/DSC00959.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321337861028388002" />On Saturday, the ship made its way to Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas. Before getting off the ship, we decided to introduce Logan to his first movie -- Bolt 3D. He had done so well at Toy Story the night before, we figured that he could last 1 hour and 47 minutes in a movie theatre. We got pretty close. The 3D glasses fell off after the first 30 minutes, but it wasn't until 15 minutes before the end that we escorted him out of the theatre because he started to talk and fuss. After the movie, we went to the private island for Logan's first beach experience since he was a baby. He absolutely loved the water. He wasn't even scared.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhraVphfYxGNG2mySBPsWSS_UuBP7Tid0yqVVKEWoWefNwvtlOb7oaOCN-T3HdQaMfjIZmjmqXPL7ERvo3PhG4FU-klJm9Ocww_sEAa_648PML03L0W3ea772ni9cM-7cDIhs-KmNJogBp9/s200/P4041746.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321338673775154194">Logan had so much fun at the beach, that he fell asleep on the 6 minute walk back to the ship and ended up sleeping for another couple hours. We had to wake him up for the Castaway Club party for returning cruise members. During the party, he spent most of the time on stage entertaining the audience with some of the other children. After the party, we had dinner for the kids at Animator's Pallet and then we dropped off the kids at their respective play places so that the adults could enjoy a fine dining experience at Palo's. That dinner ended a very fun and exciting cruise. Logan had so much fun with his cousins that he left us at the port to go back with them.

To see more pictures of the cruise, click here.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-55097787787220817562009-01-26T18:03:00.001-08:002009-01-26T19:10:23.363-08:00A Disney Vacation with the Norris Family<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5BrZODNRpOjTSac1UP2G0rns7pMBQm_suUADDZKMS8tI4nNY0-QyBfQ0Qf8E41znYa-Era7kSyeAQlVSeNmA3qfaKAoy8S7Zctp366v1eSxugt4Ac0OiQmlNZRILNjBMHxPA_b2eFJZbC/s320/DSC00562.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295793013418413266" />
This week, Logan had the opportunity to take a week off of "school" to play at the Parks -- the Disney Parks, that is. Jodi, Corey, Emma, Addison, and Hallie flew in from Ohio to spend some time with the Levine family.

On Tuesday morning, we went to the Polynesian Hotel for the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast at Ohana's. Not only did we meet Lilo and Stitch, but Mickey and Pluto also showed up to say hello. From breakfast, we hit the Magic Kingdom where we had the luxury of a "skip to the front of the line" pass, also known as a guest with a broken foot.

Without much waiting, we were able to go on Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Pirate's of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Goofy's Roller Coaster, Dumbo, Alladin, Buzz Lightyear, and others. Logan was able to join us on Jungle Cruise, Alladin, and Pirate's. He had a blast.

On Wednesday, we went to EPCOT where we went on Soarin', Test Track, Mission Space, and Nemo. With the exception of Nemo, Logan wasn't able to go on any rides at EPCOT, but he enjoyed himself all the same. We capped off the evening with a trip to the Fort Wilderness Campfire with Chip and Dale. Despite the freezing weather, Logan had had a wonderful time and loved the marshmallows and guitar player.

On Thursday, we hit Disney's Hollywood Studios. We rode Toy Story (twice), Rockin' Roller Coaster, Playhouse Disney, and The Great Movie Ride. Logan rode every ride except the Roller Coaster and his favorite was Playhouse Disney. He couldn't stop pointing to everything and yelling out their names like mouse, bubbles, dog, ball, duck, etc.

With all this action, you would expect over 100 photos, but we had some camera issues this trip. The Norris family lost their camera at the Magic Kingdom and then we forgot to charge our camera the night before the EPCOT trip. There are still some good shots, though. Click here to see some photos.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-62912697269326722212009-01-18T20:04:00.000-08:002009-01-18T20:42:34.961-08:00Logan is 18 months old!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbqKzjaZpRkX76A-wI36tmihYuA5i04icpNfRZ7mG4eLOlsnPHPTHOQl-3_te-W9SHLV9ff7gG4yjKgptpFe_Ct68OuJ6BUyee8oijVLeOwIfRAZAGIvMUUJy6EF4Dyr-dsnKo1d__FsyQ/s400/P1031505.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292851521360326706" />
The holidays (Chanukkah and New Years) seemed to come and go, as did a plethora of family and friends coming to the house to spend time with the family and meet Logan's baby brother. Logan celebrated Chanukkah at home. In fact, this was one of the first years in a long time that we were home every night of Chanukkah to light the Menorah. We had many people over the house during Chanukkah like Clay and Wendi; Todd, Monica, and Jared; Mimi and Poppi; and Uncle Ed and Eileen.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXu5h2rcnOS_ZqojQUkc4UMC8dkoOZ2ayYhh73oJwNXHgYtQNBJtXq-gROwph4Ro7JTgde1Ib5bfYtYywFi-E00XM4ZSMvImelQEomckl0uHF80tuzTlpybjHVUFUgsfZBokz7RVbmW3Yp/s320/DSC00278.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292858857143523890" />
Before Chanukkah was officially over, we celebrated Uncle Todd's birthday where Logan got to spend some time with more family like Taylor and Aunt Rhonda; Uncle Harvey, Aunt Roxanne, and Craig; Grandma Esther; Grandma Elizabeth; and Grandpa Howie and Grandma Elise. Taylor and Rhonda stayed for a couple days and Logan really enjoyed their company especially when they babysat for him.

We spent New Year's Eve with the Hagen Family and Todd, Monica, and Jared. Logan tried to stay up until midnight, but didn't make it. On New Year's Day, we went to Tampa to have lunch with the Kissel Family and then snacks with the Fletcher Family.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGuziRqxXZklKUqxcxOnpdo1kClKyXNmylb6o5ZSM9PM23Y_yUOapri-t0mDFqsCv8abMHFKS9XdZzIwZk4n1hcmQRjme-GQNo432Q6Eztaf1wcBgiz-fjrVv8X5Jyq4HdWPoslqI27H_o/s320/DSC00310.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292860498338009426" />After all the holidays and guests, Logan returned to school where he was transitioning from the little toddler room to the big toddler room. Now he will no longer be napping in a crib and he will sit at a table instead of a high chair drinking from a cup instead of a sippy cup. After a week of transition, Logan was rewarded with a trip to Disney to celebrate Stefanie's birthday. He had a blast on "It's a Small World". He pointed to all the animals that he knew, making sounds for things like monkeys and dogs.

Only a few days later, Logan had his 18 month check-up where he weighed in at 30 lbs 15 ounces with a height of 32.75 inches. The doctor was very impressed with his ability to drink from a cup and the fact that he calls water "agua". Logan wasn't really performing that day, but he has developed a lot in the last month.

For one, Logan has finally reached the stage of toddler dancer. He only dances to a handful of Wiggles songs but he moves his lips and everything. He also participates in songs like "If you're happy and you know it" and "Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes". His vocabulary is growing every day. This month he learned words like pillow, yellow, blue, puzzle, bubbles, cracker, waffles, mouse, and pretzel, to name a few. He also added some animal sounds to his repertoire like "who" for an owl. We hope that by next month he will start climbing and putting two words together to form sentences.

For some pictures from this month, click here.

Stay tuned next month for the Norris visit from Ohio, Debbie's visit from Boston, Ava's Baptism, Brian's birthday, and more.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-24986594231044735002008-12-22T18:00:00.001-08:002008-12-22T18:44:34.126-08:00Logan turns 17 months old!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSxUgC81Cv-rkfLQ3VmCOOf16KNHyG1Uhi0WiHThDtpF2W9f-LQKdwEbJGggCqyxpgHvSnGu8HWp5qll14jauROtSV_NHRJ4zyft0PcwtT19vthx7gINuiHkzlbjT_y2-bfFCvJE1qdeYo/s400/DSC00240.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282800261955888338" />
You know it has been a good blogging month when Logan has 5 entries. His month started with a trip to the Wiggles concert (or as he calls them, "ga ga"); followed by becoming a big brother to his baby brother Asher; followed by a trip to Disney to see the Osborne Festival of Lights; followed by Thanksgiving; and ended with a joint photo shoot with his brother.

The birth of Asher alone was enough to make life interesting for Logan especially with all the visitors. Logan LOVES his baby brother. He points to him all day long and says "daydee" which is his version of baby. He kisses his brother every chance he gets and brings him all of his baby things like blankets, burp cloths, bottles, and pacifiers.

He also had a couple of opportunities to get closer with his cousin Jared. We finally have a handful of pictures of the two of them together.

In terms of development, it is as if Logan blossomed when baby Asher came along. He is saying so much more (or we are just understanding so much more). Every day we are surprised by what he knows. For instance, he knows how to say and sign "please". His vocabulary now includes animal sounds like the sounds dogs, monkeys, sheep, lions, and pigs make. He can also point at pictures when he talks so it is getting easier to understand him. His vocabulary now includes more than 50 words like please, milk, water (in spanish), mimi, mama, daddy, wiggles, car, truck, vroom, blocks, box, dog, up, down, more, bye, bye bye, hello, hi, duck, apple, hot, eat, elmo, hat, all done, night night, blanket, shoes, knees, ears, head, belly, baby, book, ball, balloon, etc.

Of course, the walking turned into running. He is doing much better navigating around and over objects. He is also doing better at getting down from the couch and/or bed. Although he started using a fork last month, this month he has become much better at stabbing the food to go on the fork. He also stopped throwing food or his cup when he is done eating and now pushes everything away when he is done and says "all done". He's getting a lot better at stacking and sorting toys and he has fallen in love with books. He needs to hear 2-3 books before he lies down at night. He even sleeps with a few in his crib and reads them when he wakes up in the morning. He also started sleeping with a blanket in preparation for the day he transitions to a big boy bed. Did we mention the start of potty training?

To see pictures of Logan this month, click here.

Stay tuned next month to hear about Chanukkah, visits from Mimi (Grandma Barbara), Papi (Grandpa Sumner), Great Aunt Rhonda, Cousin Taylor, Great Uncle Harvey, Great Aunt Roxanne, Cousin Craig, Great Uncle Ed and Eileen, and more.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-37956403173956980042008-12-17T17:45:00.000-08:002008-12-17T17:49:55.249-08:00Logan teaches Asher a little thing about Photo Shoots<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm2mJCgNOJhpdhwaFkd29cyKUgnjG6REM345S7c-RW3rAiCO_P-ukuqBFTEB9aZV59rYWWuLDOyf9OlLLYGqPlgR8pUKOr8uz3tsMshynuUqB_mVVoxNM5Tot6cOOv_EUp6mQUJu9TI8f-/s320/LoganPhotoShoot.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280940671104442114" />
Logan's big brother duties have officially begun. His first real task was showing his brother the ropes when it comes to professional photo shoots. Although Logan is no stranger to photographers, this was the first time we visited the Portrait Innovations studio in Winter Garden. Logan was ready to go as soon as the camera came out. He showed his brother how to smile and act casual as the photographer took over 60 pictures of Logan and Asher. We especially like the ones of Logan and Asher together in their Big Brother/Lil Brother T-shirts. We decided to treat Logan to some Disney time at Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). It is that time of year again when the Osborne Family Spectacle of lights are on display. We went with Clay and Wendi to see the lights this year. Logan was mesmerized. We capped off the evening with a trip to Pizzeria Uno where Logan proved his "big boy" status by sitting in a booster seat instead of a high chair. At 4pm on November 25th, 2008, Logan became a big brother to Asher Jase Levine. Asher weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and measured 19.5 inches long.

Logan just couldn't wait to get to the hospital after hearing the news. He has spent the last couple months rubbing mommy's belly in anticipation of this day. The reception was a little overwhelming for Logan. He stared at his brother for a couple of minutes but then got a little jealous when daddy fed his brother.

Now that Logan is back at home, he is proud to announce the launch of his brother's new blog at <a href=http"//www.asherjaselevine.com">www.asherjaselevine.com. Logan went with his cousin Jared and his friend Parker to see the Wiggles perform at the Amway Arena in downtown Orlando. We were prepared, with camera in hand, but the battery had somehow lost its charge. Logan was probably a little young for his first concert as his attention span is still somewhat limited. He definitely likes the Wiggles, but he was less "excited" and more "interested" in what was going on around him. He was taking in the whole experience, observing his surroundings. He never really smiled, clapped or made a noise. He just watched and watched for about an hour and then he got too tired and started to break down. By the second to last song, he was ready to go home. We stayed until the end, though, and watched a Wiggles DVD on the way home.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-59007625579883490652008-11-19T17:14:00.000-08:002008-11-19T17:28:01.157-08:00Logan and Jared's Annual Halloween Picture<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 133px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVbZXJDcWfGu_mpxeilknOWh6TQYUNAujdY2QiroSAW4n4pahUaNVch3ta66vObLB4Zggmnewpd3uLF_Xro4HkySsugsYKSg5N84ailF0VI4qj2yPwalYroqLWJs_K60zgl_kWVfVjWCZD/s200/JaredAndLogan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270544568355207858" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 160px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitnT5CA_u7h2LMtNr5saMe5RwRRlMqPskQIQcssENp1x1e7sQe2iaUBDd8-oZ1rea760YPs3zC_7DE-plo_IcrFP_0Hz66bxqBEll1-0LGyvJDP4I1w4xcPPuf8ONRlVrLvrg8s4wsgaGK/s200/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270544422249736962" />

It is an annual tradition now that Logan and Jared get a professional photograph taken of the two of them in their costumes. It is hard to believe that our little boy has grown to be such a full grown toddler. Weighing in at 29lbs, Logan had a very productive and exciting Month 16. The blog is full of posts for this month including Halloween, Logan's new bedroom, Logan's school picture, and a handful of trips to Disney World.

Life has been good for Logan now that he can walk. He feels very independent. He is even been known to sneak away into his play room and play with some of his favorite toys alone. He loves the toy that shoots balls into the air or loves stacking blocks or making buildings with Lego's. He continues to get better and better at puzzles and shape sorters.

When it comes to eating, he is actually getting more picky in his old age. Now that he can communicate "no" to us, he makes sure we know which foods he wants to eat and which foods he doesn't. He is also less likely to eat something if we try to feed him. He is improving his eating skills now, though, with the addition of a plate and fork to his normal routine. Soft fruits seem to be his favorite along with grilled chicken.

In the speaking department, he has learned a couple new words -- agua, apple, hat, fan, daddy, truck, dog, and all done. He still has issues pronouncing the full word, but we know what he means when he says these words. He also learned how to play peak a boo by covering his eyes.

Month 16 was a cold month in Florida with temperatures falling to the low 40's. Logan came down with a slight cold that had him out of commission for almost 5 days, but he is on the road to recovery and has returned to day care to be with his friends. He got to see Grandpa Howie, Grandma Elise, and Great Grandma Esther while he was sick and it made him feel much better.

Staying at home with Logan for a couple days made us realize how much he was actually learning at daycare. We never realize that he knew what "lie down" means. Now bed time is much easier because we say "lie down" and he lies down so we can put a blanket over him. We also learned that he was introduced to the Wiggles while at daycare so we have added the Wiggles to his collection of DVDs.

For pictures of Logan in Month 16, click here.

Next month is going to be a really big one for Logan and the family. It will start with a trip to see the Wiggles tomorrow and of course will be topped by a new addition to the family. Logan should be a big brother in less than a week. Despite 9 months of planning, we still don't have a name picked out and at this point, we'll wait until we see him to figure out what or who he looks like. Stay tuned to the blog on Tuesday, November 25th for the posting "Logan becomes a big brother".Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-53743771772182655232008-11-01T20:18:00.000-07:002008-11-03T05:14:35.856-08:00Happy Halloween!<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw2Kl_d5x6yQZ6z9Cfl-hb81NKzYp97kelkS4F-BLjV7dMm9y6F2PtrBp0-KiaHmZgwFgHnKuw8832hoJ8tFHlp5daPaY7NHgsZKtSU25igsaFIUZg5TxAuEMJj-fRhTeXlvDGXBosJtoS/s320/October2008+105.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264418781401388450" />
Trick or Treat? You could say this year had a little bit of both. We had to trick Logan to get him to wear his costume 4 times this season. By the last fitting, he was busting out of the seams of his little monkey costume. The treat was seeing his excitement as he created a new game which he piloted with his baby sitter where he walks around the house with a candy basket and asks for Candy. When his bucket is full, he dumps the candy on the ground and starts all over again.

Halloween started early this year with a trip to Disney for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween early in the month. Halloween Day was full of activities, though. It started with breakfast at IHOP followed by a parade at daycare, then dinner with Jared and Parker, followed by trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. He started on his feet holding his Elmo candy basket, but shortly ended up in the stroller in order to keep up with the rest of the crew.

For pictures from these Halloween events, click here. Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-73210167262720750502008-11-01T20:05:00.000-07:002008-11-01T20:18:11.794-07:00Walt Disney World - The Ultimate Play Date<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoG5MeU3UscqRNuxX3u1LCb13Ypmxi2UR-ma26hHSiHaWxs3NXVJeQdeYTcnUtWLm-zDerXeYsvmrNMn6RzFtfokDWt8Cp3N8Lv1pVM-N_A-JCMC-Y6pUGTwx4l5fkmMe0j8JPXxyvXENq/s320/DSC00047.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263891573930837314" />
October is one of our favorite months to visit Disney World. Amongst our favorite events are EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween. We also enjoy the occasional visit to Walt Disney World Restaurants like Ohana's in the Polynesian Hotel and Biergarten in Germany at EPCOT.

Logan enjoyed each and every visit this year and each time he enjoyed it with different family and friends. Now that Logan can walk, he has a new appreciation for what the parks have to offer like restaurant queue lines, fences, ramps, and railings. Logan doesn't need rides and shows to entertain him any longer.

See pictures from several visits to Disney this month by clicking here.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-85752485126795461682008-10-20T17:59:00.000-07:002008-10-20T18:01:14.686-07:00Logan's 1st School Picture<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis0Xq3oCVYKKxT1DHrj9VOwbzRaczdlKbSXeDaFxo_o90rcf96J1QI5hq493ZzNW0WdBEPZ9P97QkWlWm741fOgZOm2nTcry3NgLsfa1jwU0IskyyA68MNju4zuMtr0WH8oJYTTY2Bn_cz/s400/logan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259405842826776450" />Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-21115419771722196182008-10-19T16:36:00.000-07:002008-10-19T16:43:00.192-07:00Is Logan Ready for His Big Boy Room?<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpLfoGbrisKeza0PiFE4OoZ6Btt7FK6ztfcSuyUVcb9RYlx0dSZK4in-hs-0p0jhw5KPDwXamrwjLPk5-haO-NW0QKKdhKdHM7fAK51GL6Wz_qpQp04Sa1_yCD9SA6b7q5bMw_t_Djru1a/s320/IMG_4066.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259013265429754914" />
As we prepare for Baby #2, we have begun to get Logan's new room ready for his transition from crib to Big Boy bed. His theme has already begun to materialize. He will have a sports themed room equipped with the sports quilt, football curtain rod, basketball night light, and baseball lamp. Slowly but surely, we'll integrate pictures of sports and maybe even a mural with sports icons. His favorite piece of furniture is his new monogrammed chair. He's not quite ready to sleep on the bed, but he is more than happy to play on it. With walking out of the way, sleeping on a bed and potty training are the next two milestones. Let's cross our fingers.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-31390186219939798292008-10-17T18:01:00.000-07:002008-10-17T18:19:14.919-07:00Logan Turns 15 Months Old!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxamX0SloTWu9wbXYbVzgLFskv4_mrQsS050x6PuYN0SwG1ZNm0MbwyjdhXFO43Myqnn3wl-Z1uVT0vS9H9k4WWFpFjl1927iEENf9wozzvSFBOKDYilqRXEANZHGkLIDVMUVtHZmw_uW5/s400/IMG_4011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258293438973257058" />
It seems the older Logan gets, the less pictures we take. Perhaps he is much faster and the moments are harder to capture? Perhaps we're too busy chasing after him? Perhaps we're getting lazy in his toddler months. Whatever the excuse, we promise to do better next month.

This month can be best described as the month we wished Logan would learn to walk. With one day to spare, he snapped into action and proved that not only can he stand on his own two feet without holding on, but he can also go from a crawling position to a standing position and take quite a number of steps including navigating around furniture and dogs. This was his big accomplishment of the past month.

Logan is definitely growing nicely. At his 15 month check-up today, he weighed in at 28 lbs, 11 oz. His height was almost 32 inches. That puts him in the 80th percentile for height and 90th for weight. He impressed the doctor by his ability to point out his stomach, say "hi", wave goodbye, throw kisses, and walk.

In many ways, Logan is the same old Logan. He loves meal time. He always smiles for the camera. He says hi to everyone when he enters a room and waves bye as he leaves. He knows sign language for the most important words -- eat, more, milk, and all done.

His vocabulary is slowly expanding and he has created a few words of his own. "Dai" means "give me". "Duh" means he is done with whatever he has in his hands and he is going to throw it on the ground. "Dee" is the same thing as "Weee" and he learned the word for "hot" but he uses it when he sees any food. He can say "up" and "uh-oh" but you wouldn't know it unless you were his parents. He still says the letter "B" for book and balloon and "da da" doesn't mean Daddy. It is more of a question he asks expecting the response of "yes".

A couple cute additions to his repertoire is the shaking of the head to indicate "no". He can't help but crack up as he shakes his head when he doesn't want something. He also likes to bump heads, do a high five, and blow kisses.

He is much more advanced now with his toys as he learns to stack blocks, take apart puzzles, and open and close compartments. Talking about opening and closing, we had to baby proof the house because Logan loves to open doors, cabinets, and drawers. He gets on his tippy toes to open the door.

For some pictures of Logan since his birthday posting, click here.

Don't forget to check back next time (may be slightly longer than a month) for the announcement of Logan's baby brother, Logan's advancement in the art of walking, Logan's real Halloween experience, and more.Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5612351664247732355.post-64209065327181916142008-10-17T17:55:00.001-07:002008-10-17T18:01:38.975-07:00Look Who's WALKING Now?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4nps_J5tfU0A4k2VhxufrEvib14C-gcyXQOPi1Y7S4LcZ8yWPhYOP6m89kt3cZYSV_M7dCO3C1w08IMxXkDrG4UkvpNbZECBlu1Y2HTxqlj3Zk8y1d_8RUg7VIdX1zk6wGCvP2QNgdTb6/s200/IMG_4033.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258292617087620818" />

Is it really true? He looks forward to the one night a year that he gets to dress up, go on rides without any waiting, collect limitless candy in a bag, see fireworks and parades, and stay up late. Why should this year be any different?

This year Logan dressed up as a monkey. We got to the Magic Kingdom at around 6pm for the separate ticket function which started at 7pm, but you can enter the park anytime after 4pm. We hopped on Pirates of the Caribbean without even the resemblance of a line. By the time we were done, the candy stations had been set up. We hit every single one. Along the way, we stopped at the Haunted Mansion, Carousel, and It's a Small World. He had a blast. The night ended with the spectacular fireworks show. A lot has happened since his birthday, but we have not had the chance to update the blog since we moved last month so the past few months have been packing and unpacking.

Logan is settled into the new house and appreciates the change from tile to wood floors. He went back to daycare soon after his first birthday after having a nice summer off. He also found out he would be a big brother soon.

Logan has been trying his hardest to walk, but he is still not there yet, but he is getting close. His "hi" and "bye" are getting better and he is even known to throw kisses if you are lucky. He has perfected the signs for "eat", "more", "all done", and "milk".

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtElgrT-Xm9SWa3dBajNrnaVf8EwVYxYEv4LNuIXrt1q-AO2V2Ul50Y4kRkEpfaCIMzbq98w4KwOVRv3BECgjkpMsjmePVoWjJllGyGQLARwP53qDPv1UP3fRGEf-XSqBc6OQB1H-7P4Do/s200/P5260039.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258298268936515202" />With the good also comes the bad. It was a little longer than a year ago when we had the unfortunate news that Logan's Great Grandfather Bernie passed away. This September, Logan's other Great Grandfather, Julie, passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Logan had a chance to spend some time with his great grandfather before he left Florida to return to New York. This picture is from the end of May and was the last time we saw him.

Now that Logan has passed his 1 year mark and we have another boy on the way, we won't be able to blog every month, but we promise to update everyone on the big events and milestones. The two shared the spotlight as Logan celebrated his birthday with friends and family; and Elmo set the theme for decorations, cake, gifts, cards, gift bags, and balloons. Logan's first birthday party was at our home. It was a pool party and the weather participated providing a nice sunny day, perfect for swimming. Logan had no problem attacking the smush cake. He almost ate half the cake before we had to take it away. After that, he swam for a bit and then opened all his gifts. Despite missing a nap, Logan was the life of the party. He played with all of the kids, had his share of food, and was overwhelmed by the number of gifts he received. A first haircut at Disney's Magic Kingdom Barber Shop. Yesterday, Logan made the adventure via the monorail to Main Street in anticipation of the moment where he trades in his baby blond curls for a pair of mouse ears as he begins his transition from baby to toddler. There are only two chairs in the Barber Shop and since we arrived at 5pm (closing time), they locked the doors behind us and closed all the shades. Then there was the special seat pad for children. He was welcomed by loads of Mickey stickers and magically the Barber cut his hair without him even knowing. When it was all over, Logan received a certificate, extra stickers, a lock of his hair with pixie dust, and a pair of mouse ears that reads "First Haircut". And, when it was all over, Logan got to ride on the carousel and It's a Small World. Click here for more pictures of Logan's Disney Adventure.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_cREDDCxoNrhxGuCrnVz__xagBXW8Hd_Yz-vnpVOM5Tb9tvcAgWfBAnjst0xjTKS-un4OkXONRgDiSbXoGiVPtaUH76h-TNrQKrnW14SoNiMuUUggLyppJhy95O4cafktMLsubczOm1_6/s320/IMG_3852.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5220073227006954530" />Brian and Stefaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04119048659101371655noreply@blogger.com0
