Logan turns 17 months old!

You know it has been a good blogging month when Logan has 5 entries. His month started with a trip to the Wiggles concert (or as he calls them, "ga ga"); followed by becoming a big brother to his baby brother Asher; followed by a trip to Disney to see the Osborne Festival of Lights; followed by Thanksgiving; and ended with a joint photo shoot with his brother.

The birth of Asher alone was enough to make life interesting for Logan especially with all the visitors. Logan LOVES his baby brother. He points to him all day long and says "daydee" which is his version of baby. He kisses his brother every chance he gets and brings him all of his baby things like blankets, burp cloths, bottles, and pacifiers.

He also had a couple of opportunities to get closer with his cousin Jared. We finally have a handful of pictures of the two of them together.

In terms of development, it is as if Logan blossomed when baby Asher came along. He is saying so much more (or we are just understanding so much more). Every day we are surprised by what he knows. For instance, he knows how to say and sign "please". His vocabulary now includes animal sounds like the sounds dogs, monkeys, sheep, lions, and pigs make. He can also point at pictures when he talks so it is getting easier to understand him. His vocabulary now includes more than 50 words like please, milk, water (in spanish), mimi, mama, daddy, wiggles, car, truck, vroom, blocks, box, dog, up, down, more, bye, bye bye, hello, hi, duck, apple, hot, eat, elmo, hat, all done, night night, blanket, shoes, knees, ears, head, belly, baby, book, ball, balloon, etc.

Of course, the walking turned into running. He is doing much better navigating around and over objects. He is also doing better at getting down from the couch and/or bed. Although he started using a fork last month, this month he has become much better at stabbing the food to go on the fork. He also stopped throwing food or his cup when he is done eating and now pushes everything away when he is done and says "all done". He's getting a lot better at stacking and sorting toys and he has fallen in love with books. He needs to hear 2-3 books before he lies down at night. He even sleeps with a few in his crib and reads them when he wakes up in the morning. He also started sleeping with a blanket in preparation for the day he transitions to a big boy bed. Did we mention the start of potty training?

Stay tuned next month to hear about Chanukkah, visits from Mimi (Grandma Barbara), Papi (Grandpa Sumner), Great Aunt Rhonda, Cousin Taylor, Great Uncle Harvey, Great Aunt Roxanne, Cousin Craig, Great Uncle Ed and Eileen, and more.

Logan teaches Asher a little thing about Photo Shoots

Logan's big brother duties have officially begun. His first real task was showing his brother the ropes when it comes to professional photo shoots. Although Logan is no stranger to photographers, this was the first time we visited the Portrait Innovations studio in Winter Garden. Logan was ready to go as soon as the camera came out. He showed his brother how to smile and act casual as the photographer took over 60 pictures of Logan and Asher. We especially like the ones of Logan and Asher together in their Big Brother/Lil Brother T-shirts. Check out the entire photo shoot online at Kodak Gallery.

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney's Hollywood Studios

After a weekend of getting acclimated to being a big brother, Logan was well deserving of some time with mommy and daddy, away from Asher. We decided to treat Logan to some Disney time at Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM). It is that time of year again when the Osborne Family Spectacle of lights are on display. We went with Clay and Wendi to see the lights this year. Logan was mesmerized. We capped off the evening with a trip to Pizzeria Uno where Logan proved his "big boy" status by sitting in a booster seat instead of a high chair. For pictures of the evening, click here.

Guess who's a big brother now?

That's right. At 4pm on November 25th, 2008, Logan became a big brother to Asher Jase Levine. Asher weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and measured 19.5 inches long.

Logan just couldn't wait to get to the hospital after hearing the news. He has spent the last couple months rubbing mommy's belly in anticipation of this day. The reception was a little overwhelming for Logan. He stared at his brother for a couple of minutes but then got a little jealous when daddy fed his brother.

Now that Logan is back at home, he is proud to announce the launch of his brother's new blog at www.asherjaselevine.com. Visit the blog named "Asher's Attic" for more details and more photos.

Pop Goes the Wiggles!

We promised a blog entry, but it will have to be an entry without photos (for now). Logan went with his cousin Jared and his friend Parker to see the Wiggles perform at the Amway Arena in downtown Orlando. We were prepared, with camera in hand, but the battery had somehow lost its charge. Logan was probably a little young for his first concert as his attention span is still somewhat limited. He definitely likes the Wiggles, but he was less "excited" and more "interested" in what was going on around him. He was taking in the whole experience, observing his surroundings. He never really smiled, clapped or made a noise. He just watched and watched for about an hour and then he got too tired and started to break down. By the second to last song, he was ready to go home. We stayed until the end, though, and watched a Wiggles DVD on the way home.

Logan and Jared's Annual Halloween Picture

It is an annual tradition now that Logan and Jared get a professional photograph taken of the two of them in their costumes. Here is the picture from this year and last year. My, have they grown.

Logan turns 16 months old!

Wow, the big 1-6. It is hard to believe that our little boy has grown to be such a full grown toddler. Weighing in at 29lbs, Logan had a very productive and exciting Month 16. The blog is full of posts for this month including Halloween, Logan's new bedroom, Logan's school picture, and a handful of trips to Disney World.

Life has been good for Logan now that he can walk. He feels very independent. He is even been known to sneak away into his play room and play with some of his favorite toys alone. He loves the toy that shoots balls into the air or loves stacking blocks or making buildings with Lego's. He continues to get better and better at puzzles and shape sorters.

When it comes to eating, he is actually getting more picky in his old age. Now that he can communicate "no" to us, he makes sure we know which foods he wants to eat and which foods he doesn't. He is also less likely to eat something if we try to feed him. He is improving his eating skills now, though, with the addition of a plate and fork to his normal routine. Soft fruits seem to be his favorite along with grilled chicken.

In the speaking department, he has learned a couple new words -- agua, apple, hat, fan, daddy, truck, dog, and all done. He still has issues pronouncing the full word, but we know what he means when he says these words. He also learned how to play peak a boo by covering his eyes.

Month 16 was a cold month in Florida with temperatures falling to the low 40's. Logan came down with a slight cold that had him out of commission for almost 5 days, but he is on the road to recovery and has returned to day care to be with his friends. He got to see Grandpa Howie, Grandma Elise, and Great Grandma Esther while he was sick and it made him feel much better.

Staying at home with Logan for a couple days made us realize how much he was actually learning at daycare. We never realize that he knew what "lie down" means. Now bed time is much easier because we say "lie down" and he lies down so we can put a blanket over him. We also learned that he was introduced to the Wiggles while at daycare so we have added the Wiggles to his collection of DVDs.

For pictures of Logan in Month 16, click here.

Next month is going to be a really big one for Logan and the family. It will start with a trip to see the Wiggles tomorrow and of course will be topped by a new addition to the family. Logan should be a big brother in less than a week. Despite 9 months of planning, we still don't have a name picked out and at this point, we'll wait until we see him to figure out what or who he looks like. Stay tuned to the blog on Tuesday, November 25th for the posting "Logan becomes a big brother".

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat? You could say this year had a little bit of both. We had to trick Logan to get him to wear his costume 4 times this season. By the last fitting, he was busting out of the seams of his little monkey costume. The treat was seeing his excitement as he created a new game which he piloted with his baby sitter where he walks around the house with a candy basket and asks for Candy. When his bucket is full, he dumps the candy on the ground and starts all over again.

Halloween started early this year with a trip to Disney for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween early in the month. Halloween Day was full of activities, though. It started with breakfast at IHOP followed by a parade at daycare, then dinner with Jared and Parker, followed by trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. He started on his feet holding his Elmo candy basket, but shortly ended up in the stroller in order to keep up with the rest of the crew.

Walt Disney World - The Ultimate Play Date

October is one of our favorite months to visit Disney World. Amongst our favorite events are EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween. We also enjoy the occasional visit to Walt Disney World Restaurants like Ohana's in the Polynesian Hotel and Biergarten in Germany at EPCOT.

Logan enjoyed each and every visit this year and each time he enjoyed it with different family and friends. Now that Logan can walk, he has a new appreciation for what the parks have to offer like restaurant queue lines, fences, ramps, and railings. Logan doesn't need rides and shows to entertain him any longer.

Is Logan Ready for His Big Boy Room?

As we prepare for Baby #2, we have begun to get Logan's new room ready for his transition from crib to Big Boy bed. His theme has already begun to materialize. He will have a sports themed room equipped with the sports quilt, football curtain rod, basketball night light, and baseball lamp. Slowly but surely, we'll integrate pictures of sports and maybe even a mural with sports icons. His favorite piece of furniture is his new monogrammed chair. He's not quite ready to sleep on the bed, but he is more than happy to play on it. With walking out of the way, sleeping on a bed and potty training are the next two milestones. Let's cross our fingers.

Logan Turns 15 Months Old!

It seems the older Logan gets, the less pictures we take. Perhaps he is much faster and the moments are harder to capture? Perhaps we're too busy chasing after him? Perhaps we're getting lazy in his toddler months. Whatever the excuse, we promise to do better next month.

This month can be best described as the month we wished Logan would learn to walk. With one day to spare, he snapped into action and proved that not only can he stand on his own two feet without holding on, but he can also go from a crawling position to a standing position and take quite a number of steps including navigating around furniture and dogs. This was his big accomplishment of the past month.

Logan is definitely growing nicely. At his 15 month check-up today, he weighed in at 28 lbs, 11 oz. His height was almost 32 inches. That puts him in the 80th percentile for height and 90th for weight. He impressed the doctor by his ability to point out his stomach, say "hi", wave goodbye, throw kisses, and walk.

In many ways, Logan is the same old Logan. He loves meal time. He always smiles for the camera. He says hi to everyone when he enters a room and waves bye as he leaves. He knows sign language for the most important words -- eat, more, milk, and all done.

His vocabulary is slowly expanding and he has created a few words of his own. "Dai" means "give me". "Duh" means he is done with whatever he has in his hands and he is going to throw it on the ground. "Dee" is the same thing as "Weee" and he learned the word for "hot" but he uses it when he sees any food. He can say "up" and "uh-oh" but you wouldn't know it unless you were his parents. He still says the letter "B" for book and balloon and "da da" doesn't mean Daddy. It is more of a question he asks expecting the response of "yes".

A couple cute additions to his repertoire is the shaking of the head to indicate "no". He can't help but crack up as he shakes his head when he doesn't want something. He also likes to bump heads, do a high five, and blow kisses.

He is much more advanced now with his toys as he learns to stack blocks, take apart puzzles, and open and close compartments. Talking about opening and closing, we had to baby proof the house because Logan loves to open doors, cabinets, and drawers. He gets on his tippy toes to open the door.

For some pictures of Logan since his birthday posting, click here.

Don't forget to check back next time (may be slightly longer than a month) for the announcement of Logan's baby brother, Logan's advancement in the art of walking, Logan's real Halloween experience, and more.

Look Who's WALKING Now?

Is it really true? Will Logan walk before he turns 15 months old tomorrow? It may be a possibility yet. You can see for yourself in this YouTube Video. Just click on the play button:

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween

It has become an annual event for Logan. He looks forward to the one night a year that he gets to dress up, go on rides without any waiting, collect limitless candy in a bag, see fireworks and parades, and stay up late. Why should this year be any different?

This year Logan dressed up as a monkey. We got to the Magic Kingdom at around 6pm for the separate ticket function which started at 7pm, but you can enter the park anytime after 4pm. We hopped on Pirates of the Caribbean without even the resemblance of a line. By the time we were done, the candy stations had been set up. We hit every single one. Along the way, we stopped at the Haunted Mansion, Carousel, and It's a Small World. He had a blast. The night ended with the spectacular fireworks show. For more pictures of the event, click here.

Been a While Since Logan's Birthday

As you can see, our little Logan has grown up since his first birthday as he has graduated from bottle to Starbuck's. A lot has happened since his birthday, but we have not had the chance to update the blog since we moved last month so the past few months have been packing and unpacking.

Logan is settled into the new house and appreciates the change from tile to wood floors. He went back to daycare soon after his first birthday after having a nice summer off. He also found out he would be a big brother soon.

Logan has been trying his hardest to walk, but he is still not there yet, but he is getting close. His "hi" and "bye" are getting better and he is even known to throw kisses if you are lucky. He has perfected the signs for "eat", "more", "all done", and "milk".

With the good also comes the bad. It was a little longer than a year ago when we had the unfortunate news that Logan's Great Grandfather Bernie passed away. This September, Logan's other Great Grandfather, Julie, passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Logan had a chance to spend some time with his great grandfather before he left Florida to return to New York. This picture is from the end of May and was the last time we saw him.

Now that Logan has passed his 1 year mark and we have another boy on the way, we won't be able to blog every month, but we promise to update everyone on the big events and milestones. For those interested in seeing some pictures of the new house, click here.

Happy 1st Birthday, Logan!

Today was all about Logan and Elmo. The two shared the spotlight as Logan celebrated his birthday with friends and family; and Elmo set the theme for decorations, cake, gifts, cards, gift bags, and balloons. Logan's first birthday party was at our home. It was a pool party and the weather participated providing a nice sunny day, perfect for swimming. Logan had no problem attacking the smush cake. He almost ate half the cake before we had to take it away. After that, he swam for a bit and then opened all his gifts. Despite missing a nap, Logan was the life of the party. He played with all of the kids, had his share of food, and was overwhelmed by the number of gifts he received. For some pictures of his birthday party, click here.

Logan's First Haircut

What's more magical than a baby's first haircut? A first haircut at Disney's Magic Kingdom Barber Shop. Yesterday, Logan made the adventure via the monorail to Main Street in anticipation of the moment where he trades in his baby blond curls for a pair of mouse ears as he begins his transition from baby to toddler. What is so special about the experience at Disney?

Before:                                             After:

First, there's the personal service. There are only two chairs in the Barber Shop and since we arrived at 5pm (closing time), they locked the doors behind us and closed all the shades. Then there was the special seat pad for children. He was welcomed by loads of Mickey stickers and magically the Barber cut his hair without him even knowing. When it was all over, Logan received a certificate, extra stickers, a lock of his hair with pixie dust, and a pair of mouse ears that reads "First Haircut". And, when it was all over, Logan got to ride on the carousel and It's a Small World. Click here for more pictures of Logan's Disney Adventure.

Logan turns 11 months old!

Another month has passed and we just can't believe how much Logan has grown and developed over the past 30 days (or more like 37 days). Once again we have to apologize for our busy lives and late posting of his monthly entry. This was definitely a busy month topped off with a trip across the country to show Logan what California has to offer.

As many of you know, this month marked the beginning of Logan's Summer Vacation from daycare. He is home for the summer so it is up to Stefanie and I to continue to teach him new things and entertain him. In terms of new tricks, he has discovered Elmo and several other stuffed animals. He will grab onto a stuffed animal and give it a big hug. He is still crawling as fast as ever and standing up while holding onto objects. He figured out how to play with the dogs and absolutely love them. In next month's blog, you'll even learn that he now says "Delila" (the name of one of our dogs). If you ask him where his head is, he'll respond by touching his head. If you ask him where his nose is, he'll respond by touching his head, so we'll be working on this next month.

Being that he is on summer break, he is spending a lot more time in the pool. We bought him a couple rafts and he loves to float in the pool and splash. It is still a contest as to whether he likes the pool or the bath more. He is a true native Floridian when it comes to his love for water.

As you can probably tell from the 11 month pictures (click here to view), Logan has had no problems in the eating department. He is definitely starting to develop a taste for things that he likes and dislikes. He loves yogurt, but hates watermelon. He loves chicken, but needs to be in the mood to eat hamburger. Regardless of the food, this boy eats a lot. He finishes entire kids meals including the kids meal (plus side and drink) at Subway.

Talking about drinking, it is a rare day that he uses a bottle. It is now sippy cups and straws. He is having a tough time adapting to the straw because he doesn't realize that he needs to swallow and he thinks he needs to tip the cup. He is getting better every day, though.

Let's talk speech next since Stefanie is a Speech-Language Pathologist. Logan can now say "da-da", "da-ddy", "ma-ma", "mo", "na-na", "ba-ba", "th-th", "et", and a couple others. He even says some of these on command. Beyond the spoken words, he also learned sign language for "more". We are trying to also teach him the signs for "all done", "ball", "daddy", "mommy", and "kiss".

The California trip was great. If you want to see how much fun we had in California, click here. If you want to hear all about it, read on. We went to California with Logan's Mimi and Poppi (Stefanie's parents). Stefanie's father's brother lives in California and Stefanie's first Cousin Stacee is engaged to get married this summer to her fiance Scott.

We made sure that Logan had his own seat on the plane for this trip. We knew with the long flight that he would be better in a car seat. It was a good thing because he had just cut two teeth the night before and had a low grade fever. He did great, though it took him a while to settle down and go to sleep. We started our tour in the LA area where we saw the Chinese Grauman Theatre, Rodeo Drive, The Grove, The Famer's Market, Santa Monica Pier, Redondo Beach Pier, The Hills, and some of Stefanie's long lost relatives on her father's side.

After a couple days in LA, we headed to the San Diego area where we went to the Zoo, La Jolla, The Cove, Hotel Del Coronado, and spent some time with Sumner's brother Ivan, his wife Fern, and daughter Stacee. Logan also met Scott and Scott's family at a barbecue at the Cohen household.

All in all, we all had a good time and got to see a lot of California, but there is never enough time to see everyone and everything. We'll have to come back again next year. Talking about next year, by the next blog post, Logan will be 1 year old. We're hoping that we will be able to report that he can walk and knows the difference between his nose and his head. We're also hoping to report that more teeth have come in. Other than that, I am sure there will be pictures from his birthday party and news from his 1 year doctor's check-up.

Logan turns 10 months old!

It was another busy month for Logan as the school year begins to come to an end. Hard to believe it is almost summer again. In another couple months, we'll be celebrating Logan's 1 year birthday. My, how they grow up so fast. Logan is in full crawl-mode. As his doctor said at his late 9 month check-up, "he is now dangerous to himself and others." Whatever happened to the Logan that would sit in one place and play with his toys? Now he is all over the house and into everything including opening and closing doors, pulling air fresheners out of the wall sockets, and pulling the white things off the door stoppers.

Those teeth that started coming through in Month 9 are now very noticeable. Now there is nothing that Logan will not eat including green beans. Some of you may remember that he hated the green bean baby food. His favorites are probably macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, fish sticks, and grilled cheese. Of course, this great eating has led to some weight gain. Logan is now 22lbs which means he is already growing out of his 12 month clothes.

It was an exciting month for Logan, though the pictures probably don't do the month justice. He went to 2 birthdays; went swimming; met some new friends like Parker and Aidan; attended a music class; and had his first melt down at a restaurant. This was also Stefanie's first Mother's Day since Logan was born. Brian snuck Logan out of day care for the afternoon to get some pictures taken for Mother's Day. As soon as those are available, we will put a link on the blog. Also check the blog next month for some of Logan's summer adventures including a family vacation.

For pictures of Logan this month, click here.

Logan's First Passover

Yesterday, Logan attended his first Passover Seder and he did great. Now that Logan is eating table food, he couldn't get enough of all the different Passover foods like matzah farfel, matzah farfel muffins, matzah balls, brisket, and matzah. He even had matzah brie for breakfast. Considering he didn't get to sleep until almost 10pm, Logan was a trooper and stayed at the table during both parts of the seder. He only took a small break after the meal to play with his new toy. Logan is seen in the picture above wearing his brand new "I love Matzah" bib and wearing a yarmulke.

Logan Turns 9 Months Old!

This was a big month for Logan. His month started with a trip to Ohio (see the blog entry below) and continued with a trip to Boston and a couple trips down to South Florida. He got to meet several new people this month (mostly family, but some friends) and got to see some people that he hasn't seen in several months.

The most important developments to note are that he now has a tooth coming through and last week he started crawling. We have been waiting for the month where we could announce that he was finally crawling and we figured that it would probably happen around the same time that he cut his first tooth.

Although teeth are not necessary for eating real food, his appetite matured around the same time he started to get his first tooth. There is nothing this kid won't eat. In the short time that he has been eating table food, he has already tried (and inhaled) beets, avocado, green beans, matzah, chicken, hamburger, turkey, cheese, bagels, crackers, cheerios, matzah balls, tzimmis, bologna, edamame, french toast, matzah brie, pancakes, potato pancakes, brisket, and macaroons.

From this month's pictures, you'll see that Logan is really growing. He missed his 9 month check-up due to an ear infection, but he did weigh in at 20 lbs. What you won't see from the pictures is the way that Logan has started to copy us. If you clap, he will clap. If you make a rasberry, he will make one. If you click your tongue, he will click. If you say "da-da-da", he will do the same.

For this next month, we are looking forward to further advancements. Maybe he will start to pull himself up to the standing position. Maybe he will add more sounds to his vocabulary. We'll have to wait and see. Check back next month for updates. In the meanwhile, click here to look at pictures from this month.

Logan flies to Logan Airport

Although Logan was not named after Logan Airport, many have joked about the connection since Stefanie grew up in the Boston Area and continues today to be a fan of all the Boston teams. With 3 round trip flights under his belt, it was only a matter of time before Logan made his way to Boston.

The main reason for the trip was to attend the wedding of Beckie Osborne and Andre Gray. Beckie is Stefanie's long time friend from high school. For pictures of the wedding, click here.

Logan did not attend the wedding, but he sure enjoyed his trip to Boston. which included meeting his cousins Drew, Aaron, and Hailey for the first time. He also got to meet his great aunt Fern and great uncle Ivan for the first time. While in Boston, he also saw his cousin Andrew again and had the pleasure of meeting his new fiance.

Luck would have it that on Saturday Logan got to go to his cousin Aaron's first birthday party. He got to spend some time with kids his own age and spend some time with family. Many of the pictures from Boston were taken at the birthday party.

Although we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, the hosts of the weekend we really Debbie, Gary, and Gary's parents. We got to enjoy two wonderful authentic Greek meals and Logan enjoyed every bit of it. For pictures of the weekend, click here.

Spring Break in Mason, Ohio

Where do you go for Spring Break when you are less than 9 months old? Logan chose to go with his mom on a mother-son trip to Mason, Ohio to see the Norris family. Logan travelled in style in the first class cabin. Logan received many compliments on his behavior. Although his trip was short, he got to spend time with Emma and Addison. No King's Island this trip, though. It was mostly about relaxing and spending time with good friends. This trip did symobolize his jump into the world of real food. He ate a bagel and pizza crust and said goodbye to baby food forever.

Logan turns 8 months old!

It was a slow month for Logan -- no weekend trips; no house guests; no doctor's appointment. The most exciting new adventure this month was a trip to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure with the Kissels. He is still a little young for most of the rides, but he did get to ride the Cat in the Hat. He also enjoyed the Fear Factor show. Most of the pictures this month were taken at Universal. Click here to view. In addition to those pictures, Logan also took some professional spring photos. Click here to view.

Just this past week, Logan got to participate in the Keller Williams at the Parks "Downtown March". Logan, along with 25 other KW agents, were dressed in red shirts as they paraded from the new KW office to Wild Fire's BBQ for Happy Hour.

Logan also went to his first Farmers Market in Winter Park with his Cousin Jared, Uncle Todd, and Aunt Monica.

In terms of his development this past month, Logan started experimenting with new sounds every day, though his favorite series is still "dada". He now squeals and claps and bangs his hand on the high chair table in anticipation of his food. He started eating teething biscuits but still no sign of a tooth. He is playing with a greater variety of toys and likes to bang objects together to make noise. We were hoping to report that he started crawling, but the best we can do is say that he is able to slide backwards on his hands and legs.

Logan Turns 7 Months Old!

As you can tell from his blog, it has been a busy month for Logan. He played host to several out of town visitors, met some new relatives, went to Walt Disney World a dozen times, celebrated his father's birthday, and celebrated his first Valentine's Day. He is also getting over a cold that has made it hard to take his 7 month old picture, but he is recovering nicely and already back at school.

Many people are asking whether he has started crawling or if he has his first tooth. Although no crawling or teething, he certainly has learned some new tricks. He can sit up unassisted now without any supervision. He has just started to clap. If we can confirm he is actually clapping, we'll post a video. Right now it is questionable. He started saying his first recognizable sound -- da-da-da-da-da.

In terms of his eating habits, they have never been better. There is nothing Logan won't eat and luckily he is spitting up less and less. This month he experienced a whole new set of stage 2 foods like Macaroni & Cheese, Turkey, and Chicken. He also just started eating Yogurt. He no longer needs our help when it comes to drinking liquids. He can hold his own bottle and drink from a sippy cup.

How much does he weigh, you might ask? With clothes on, he now weighs 18 pounds, 8 ounces. He has also graduated to a size 4 diaper, but he is still in his 6-12 months clothes.

He is playing with more advance toys now that he can sit up. He plays on his drum, his maracas, his shape sorter, to name a few. He is also learning to knock over blocks and can bang two objects together. To see pictures of his adventures this past month, click here.

Keep checking the blog regularly for Logan's 8 month adventures.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day. Love, Logan

Logan celebrates daddy's birthday at Bern's Steakhouse

Although you might not traditionally think of Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa as a place for kids, Logan couldn't imagine missing the opportunity to hang out with his parent's friends at the dessert room in Bern's Steakhouse. The day before daddy's birthday, the family went birthday party hopping in Tampa. First it was Katie Kissel's 1 year old birthday party at the Kissel Home. Then it was a joint birthday party for Joe Fisher and Daddy at Shane and Jocie's home. The evening ended with dessert. Click here for pictures of people holding Logan throughout the evening.

Logan meets new Shapiros

It was Grandma Esther's birthday so people came from all over to wish her a happy birthday and to see Grandpa. Lexi and Mark came down, Lauren came down, Harvey came down, and the Feldman's were there as well. Although a quick trip, Logan got to meet his Great Grandpa Julie for the first time and got to meet Lexi, Mark, and Lauren for the first time. He took a couple photos which are all available for viewing here.

The Cohen's vist from Alpharetta to go to Disney

Logan got to spend another weekend at Walt Disney World when his Aunt Hollie, Uncle Jonathon, and cousins Jordyn and Benjamin drove to Orlando for the weekend from Alpharetta. It had been a while since the twins had been to Disney. This trip started with a character breakfast at the Polynesian hotel where the kids got to meet Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. They also got to parade around the restaurant with maracas.

After breakfast, we went to the Magic Kingdom where we spent the entire day. We met the princesses in Mickey's Toon Town where Logan and Jordyn had a photo opp with Belle, Arora, and Cinderella. While in Toon Town, Jordyn picked out a beautiful princess dress while Logan was getting his first pair of Mickey Ears.

We left Mickey's Toon town and headed straight for Fantasy Land. We got to ride Dumbo, Tea Cups, It's a Small World, and several other rides in addition to a brief recess at the Pooh Playground. Logan couldn't get over It's a Small World. He was intrigued with all of the characters. Then we separated for Logan to eat while the Twins tried out some big kid rides like the race cars in Tomorrow Land.

We had a busy, fun-filled day at the Magic Kingdom and returned home to relax. Jordyn couldn't wait to try on her Princess Dress. She had the shoes, dress, and tiara all fit for a princess. She loved it so much that she didn't want to take it off. Everyone left for South Florida the next morning after a good night's sleep. Norris family comes to Disney

Jodi, Corey, Emma, and Addison all came to Florida and stayed with us the third weekend in January to experience Walt Disney World. Logan enjoyed the company and got to experience several new parks, rides, attractions and restaurants. The trip started with breakfast at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel, one of the Magic Kingdom resorts. We got to meet Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy while enjoying a buffet breakfast.

Over the next couple days, we were fortunate enough to make it to all of the parks including Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT. The weather wasn't the best, but we managed to spend all day experiencing the Disney magic despite the rain and cold weather. One of the highlights of the trip was Emma's transformation at the Bippidy Boppidy Boutique in Cinderella's Castle.

While the girls were dressing up as princesses, Logan was enjoying his time at Disney. Most of the time he spent in his stroller or the girls' double stroller. Because it was cold, he had to be creative with ways to stay warm which included wearing a blanket on his head and eating non-stop. He made it on a couple rides, saw a couple shows, and enjoyed the various park transportation options like parking lot trams, monorails, and the Ferry.

Another highlight of the trip was the Princess Dinner at Norway. Although we couldn't get Addison to pose with any of the Princesses, we did get her to pose with her daddy. We may have to wait for the next trip for her to warm up to some of these Disney characters. Emma, however had a ball and got to meet all of her favorite princesses and get their autographs.

There is never enough time to see everything in Disney, but we certainly got in 3 full days of park hopping. There's always more to see and do next year. For a whole lot of pictures from the weekend, click here.

Logan Turns 6 Months Old!

This was a busy month for Logan which is part of the reason his 6 month posting is a week late. As you can see from some of the earlier postings on his blog, he visited Sarasota, learned how to sit up, and went to the playground. In addition, he also got to meet his Great Aunt Roxanne, Great Uncle Harvey, and Great Grandmother Esther for the first time. He made several trips to Disney and went on a few rides. He now sits in a high chair and he is ready for Stage 2 foods.

At his 6 month check-up, Logan weighed in at 17 lbs 4 oz which brought his weight up from the 25th percentile to the 50th percentile. His height is 27 in which kept him in the 75th percentile. The doctor was very impressed that he is sitting up by himself. Still no teeth and still no crawling, but that gives us something to look forward to next month. For some highlights of Logan's 6th month, check out these pictures online. For more specific pictures of Logan on vacation or at the playground, see the links within the blog entries below.

Logan swings into the new year

We took a ride over to the new Dr. Phillips Community Park today to visit Cousin Jared. This was Logan's second trip to the park. He had visited earlier this week when the Kissels were in town, but didn't go on any equipment. Today was different. We decided to try him out on the swing. He loved it. Watch the video to see what we mean.
